Journalism
I spent five years working as a journalist in North Carolina, Texas, and West Africa. In Ivory Coast and Ghana, I reported for the Associated Press, Global Post, Radio France Internationale, Voice of America, and France24. Before that, I was a contributing writer for The Texas Observer where I wrote long-form feature articles, including several cover stories, on a woman’s quest to free her husband from prison, the experience of Iraqi refugees settling in Dallas, the struggle of prisoners reintegrating into society, a quadriplegic man’s fight to use marijuana for medicinal purposes and the price he paid for it, and other stories. Examples of my work are below.
